FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
How often should commercial air conditioning be serviced?
For most commercial AC systems, planned servicing twice a year is recommended (typically pre-summer and pre-winter) to maintain performance and comply with F-Gas leak testing. Higher-load systems such as data centres, server rooms or 24/7 hospitality may need quarterly servicing. Avero builds the right PPM schedule based on your asset register.
What is F-Gas compliance and do I need it?
F-Gas regulations require operators of equipment containing fluorinated greenhouse gases (most commercial AC and refrigeration) to use F-Gas registered engineers, carry out periodic leak checks, and maintain records. The frequency of checks depends on the refrigerant charge size. All Avero FM Approved HVAC contractors are F-Gas registered and we maintain compliance records against your assets in Avero FM Works.
Do you cover heat pump installation and servicing?
Yes. We coordinate air source and ground source heat pump installations, servicing and repair. Our contractors cover residential and commercial heat pumps, including hybrid systems and integration with existing heating. Heat decarbonisation strategies for landlords are part of our planning service.
What standards do your HVAC contractors meet?
Avero FM Approved HVAC contractors are F-Gas registered for refrigerant handling, REFCOM certified at the company level, and work to CIBSE TM44 standards for air conditioning inspections and BS EN 378 for system safety. Certificates and inspection records are stored against assets in the platform.
Can you carry out a TM44 air conditioning inspection?
Yes. TM44 inspections are a legal requirement for air conditioning systems over 12kW combined rated output, repeated every five years. We coordinate the inspection by an accredited assessor and store the report against the property in Avero FM Works for proof of compliance.
